Dear Patient,

We have received your referral to the Sussex Musculoskeletal (MSK) Partnership. We are writing to inform you of a new initiative we are trialing within the Musculoskeletal Assessment and Rehabilitation Service (comprising Physiotherapy and Osteopathy), that you have an opportunity to access if you feel it is right for you.

The Offer

We have found that in many cases we can help people improve upon their MSK condition with advice, guidance and support.  With this in mind, we are trialing an initial, fast access 20 minute telephone consultation with an expert clinician. The intention of the call is to offer an opportunity to understand what matters most to you, and explore if there is information and guidance that can be shared to help you manage better and improve faster.  This is a one off call; however, if during the call you and the clinician together feel that you need to access further assessment and rehabilitation for your problem, you will be able to remain on the waiting list. Your place on the waiting list will not be affected by accessing this initiative.

How to Book

If you would like to access this one off consultation please respond ‘yes’ to the text message that we sent you. This will automatically let our team know to call you to book you into a ‘collaborative triage call’ appointment slot.

Dates for the Collaborative Triage Call clinics

  • Wednesday (morning only) 17th November
  • Wednesday (morning only) 24th November
  • Wednesday (morning only) 1st December

We are offering this initiative for a short period of time to assess its effectiveness. Capacity is limited and is on a first come first served basis. Please note we are only able to offer collaborative triage call appointments the days and times shown above whilst we are trailing the effectiveness of this initiative.

To support us to evaluate the effectiveness of this trial and whether we roll this out on a larger scale, we will send you a text message with a link to a short survey. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, as it will help us to improve.

If you do not feel this offer is right for you, there is no need to contact us. You will remain on the waiting list for Physiotherapy/Osteopathy and will be contacted in due course regarding an appointment. Up-to-date waiting times for our service can be found here:

How to Prepare for the Appointment

It is well understood that the more prepared people are for their appointments, the more heard, understood and satisfied they are. We therefore would like to guide you to the two points below to help you gain the most from your appointment.

  1. This website holds information, advice, exercise guidance, and many resources that you may find helpful in understanding your condition and/or concerns. The information you find may start answering some questions that you have. All of this can be found on our self care pages.

Questions you will be asked during your appointment for you to start to consider:

  • What matters most to you about this problem?
  • What is your main aim of speaking to us?
  • Do you have any ideas about the cause of your problem?
  • What have you tried so far to help?
  • Do you have any ideas about what you need right now?

Should you have any further queries please call 07483416246 between the hours of 12-4pm Monday to Thursday. Callers outside of these times can leave a voicemail and your call will be returned within the operating hours stated.
