What is the Hand & Wrist Specialist Hub?

This appointment will be different to what you might expect:

  • You will have access to multiple healthcare professionals in this appointment to discuss your care in detail, saving you from needing to wait for multiple appointments.
  • You will have as long as you need with the clinician(s) you need to see, there is no end time to your appointment.
  • There will be other patients seen at the same time as you, but we have designed the event to ensure your privacy.

If you cannot make this date or are unable to travel to The Vale Medical Centre (Haywards Heath) please contact us. If you no longer need an appointment, or we do not hear from you, you will be discharged.

How long will it take?

We expect appointments to take 20-40 minutes. Some people may take longer depending on how many clinicians they see.

When should I arrive for my appointment?

Please try and avoid arriving early. There may be a short wait to see your first clinician as we give each patient as long as they need.

How Do I Get There?

The Vale is located in the South of Haywards Heath. The Centre is just off Rocky Lane and close to the Ashenground Community Centre.
Please note that the MSK clinics are located on the first floor.

There is ample parking at the clinic itself including disabled spaces. There is also free parking in the surrounding residential streets.

Public Transport

Bus number 33 from Perrymount Road (just
south of the Haywards Heath train station) stops outside the surgery.
Bus number 40 also runs from Perrymount Road and stops near the Surgery with a walk of approximately 6 minutes.
Metrobus also runs services 270, 271 and 272 from Brighton.

The nearest Train Station is Haywards Heath located in Commercial Square, RH16 1DJ. The station is a 29 minute walk from the clinic. There is also a taxi rank outside the station, which is a 6 minute journey.

How Do I Book my Place?

You can book yourself in using the link on your text message. You may need to use the 2nd drop down option to see the Specialist Hub (as below).

Appointments will be bookable from 8.30am with the last appointment slot starting at 3.45pm.

What Will Happen When I am There?

Upon arrival, you will be called for an assessment by one of our experienced clinicians. If any treatment is deemed necessary during your assessment, it will be planned on the same day.

If further investigations are required, we will arrange them promptly to ensure a full understanding of your condition.

Our multi-disciplinary team will be will be on site to support any conversations about your care.

What Accessible Features are There?

There is ramp access to the surgery and a lift to access all levels. Disabled toilets are also available.
